Pay Range: $51.05 - $76.60

Position Description
Atrium Health / Levine Cancer is seeking an experienced, full‑time advanced practice provider (APP) specialized in oncology. The role includes caring for patients in the hospital through their diagnosis and treatment of oncologic disorders, evaluating and treating malignancies and related disorders, including early‑phase clinical trial patients.

Inpatient, CMC‑Main duties.

Full‑time (40 hours).

Day shift with four 10‑hour shifts, including Saturday and Sunday.

Holiday rotation and back‑up call.

No night shifts.

Teaching opportunities with APPs and Physician Fellows.

Chemotherapy credentialing optional.

Position Qualifications

Graduated from an accredited NP or PA program.

Must be Acute Care NP or Physician Assistant.

Current license to practice as NP or PA in North Carolina. Must have prescriptive privileges and a DEA license.

BLS for healthcare provider from AHA required.

NPs: Master’s degree or doctorate in nursing practice.

PA: Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred. Current or pending CAQ certification preferred.

+1 year of experience preferred. Oncology experience preferred but not required.

Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking and interpersonal skills in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment; can prioritize competing demands and maintain focus amid frequent interruptions.

Works effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

Essential Functions

Performs initial and periodic medical history, physical examinations, and daily assessments.

Records findings of examinations, assessments, and plan of care.

Writes appropriate prescriptions.

Orders and interprets laboratory and radiology examinations.

Determines treatment plan with the multidisciplinary team.

Documents all patient encounters, records observations, interventions, and actions in a medically appropriate manner.

Plans and conducts chemotherapy education in collaboration with pharmacy.

Acts as a patient advocate for the population served.

Actively participates in goals of care conversations.

Attends, participates, and contributes to group/practice meetings and development of policies and procedures when requested.

Physical Requirements
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support up to 35 pounds. Must speak English fluently and in understandable terms and possess intact vision, hearing, smell, touch, and finger dexterity. Must react and perform in stressful situations.
