Position Purpose
A clinically competent, registered nurse who demonstrates expertise in the perioperative field. Effectively delivers perioperative care to the surgical patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
Position Qualifications
Experience/Specialized Skills/Aptitudes
Past perioperative experience is preferred. Nurses who do not meet this requirement must complete a surgical competency‑based orientation program successfully.
Pharmacology
Aseptic technique
Teaching skills
Documentation
Licenses/Certificates
Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license.
Current BLS certification, must be completed prior to end of orientation period.
