
Nurse Practitioner Hematology Oncology

Kaiser Permanente/ The Southeast Permanente Medical Group has an opening for a full-time Oncology Nurse Practitioner in Atlanta, GA. This nurse practitioner will provide independent, direct, and specialized care to patients with oncologic and hematologic disorders. Performs physical examinations, focuses on symptom management for patients while undergoing therapy and provides ongoing follow‑up for survivors. Assists with inbox and infusion coverage and works collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members.
Minimum Education
Master’s degree in nursing
Graduate from a registered NP program
Minimum Work Experience And Qualifications
One full-time year of post‑licensure clinical nursing experience
Privileges or eligibility to apply
Preferred Work Experience And Qualifications
4 to 6 years of NP Oncology experience
Excellent procedure skills, especially with bone marrow biopsy and aspiration
Thorough and working knowledge of chemotherapy
Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation
License and current registration to practice in Georgia
ACLS
Major Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Provides new patient and follow‑up care for oncology and hematology patients in acute and ambulatory patient settings. Assesses and diagnoses patients, formulates and implements treatment plans, addresses complex medical conditions.
Collaborates with physician(s) and other interdisciplinary team members to manage medical needs of patients by performing exam and providing follow‑up care.
Evaluates medical conditions and issues appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic orders.
Develops and participates in patient survivorship programs.
Independently performs bone marrow aspirations and other procedures as determined.
Has a set patient schedule.
Has flexibility to drive from one site to another if needed.
Provides cover for chemotherapy infusion, identifies and treats adverse reactions and effects of therapy.
Attends and participates in departmental and other medical group meetings as required.
Documents appropriately in KP HealthConnect.
Assists providers with inbox coverage.
Provides inpatient and call coverage if needed.
