Responsibilities
Assumes responsibility and accountability for greeting, collecting and processing all incoming patient information to gather the necessary demographic requirements in accordance with all regulations and hospital policies to provide care for the patients, procure reimbursement verification from third parties, and maintain records appropriately. Willingness to be cross‑trained and will float to other areas or departments if the need arises.
Qualifications
High School or GED Diploma
Minimum of 1 year experience in acute care facility or related environment preferred, but not necessary
Willingness to be cross‑trained in other areas (Admitting, Business Office, ER)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented and organizational skills required
Medical Terminology knowledge
Basic Computer Knowledge
Filing Skills
Typing Skills
Familiarity with HMO/PPO contracts beneficial
