Tumor Registrar

The Tumor Registrar establishes and maintains the efficient operation of the Tumor Registry through registration and follow‑up of patients with a diagnosis of malignancy. The Tumor Registrar also retrieves and assists the Medical Staff in analyzing data from the Tumor Registry.

Position Qualifications (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
Experience

Two years' experience in a health care related field, Tumor Registry experience is preferred.

Education and Training

Formal training in a health profession such as medical record technician or administration.

Mastery of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.

Associate's degree in a health related field or current enrollment in an associate's degree program required.

License, Certification & Registration

CTRELG - CTR or CTR Eligible and must obtain CTR credential within 3 years from date of hire.

Other Requirements

Demonstrated ability to collect, manage, display and analyze data.

Demonstrated ability to code using ICD10, or a health professional background to prepare for learning to code ICD‑0.

Demonstrated interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to interact with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
