Position Description
The literacy coach provides job embedded professional learning to support high quality literacy instruction at Greens Farms Elementary School and across the district. This role focuses on building teacher capacity through coaching, collaboration, and the implementation of evidence-based practices.
Qualifications
Connecticut certification required (097 or 102);
Demonstrated effectiveness as a classroom teacher;
Deep knowledge of evidence-based literacy practices and resources;
Strong collaboration, communication, and presentation skills;
Experience with instructional coaching preferred.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the District Leadership Team to support curriculum development and the implementation of districtwide literacy initiatives;
Facilitate instructional coaching cycles that support adult learning, promote reflection, and drive continuous improvement;
Design and deliver professional learning, including both districtwide sessions and job embedded coaching;
Participate in the RTI or MTSS process, using student data, team collaboration, and intervention planning to inform coaching, strengthen teacher practice, and identify trends that guide professional learning and continuous improvement across the system.
Salary
According to the Teachers' contract (2025-2028)
