MS Science Teacher 2026-2027 - Guardian Angels Catholic School
Guardian Angels is seeking a dynamic, engaging, and dedicated Middle School Science Teacher to join our faculty for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will inspire students in grades 6 through 8 to explore the natural world through scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and hands-on learning, while encouraging active participation and a deeper appreciation for science.
This role supports our mission of forming students who grow academically, spiritually, and morally in a Christ-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities
Teach daily Science classes to middle school students (Grades 6–8), following curriculum standards aligned with diocesan and state guidelines
Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons in life science, earth science, and physical science
Incorporate hands-on experiments and labs to enhance student understanding
Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific reasoning skills
Integrate technology into instruction
Foster a classroom environment rooted in respect, compassion, and Catholic/Christian values
Assess student progress through tests, lab reports, projects, and class participation
Collaborate with the elementary science teachers and administration to ensure a cohesive K-8 science program
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and behavior
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide events
Model professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to the school’s mission and values
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, or a related field (required); Master’s degree preferred
Valid teaching certificate or willingness to obtain one (state certification or equivalent)
Strong knowledge of scientific concepts and instructional best practices
Previous experience teaching middle school students preferred
Ability to engage and motivate young adolescents through interactive and hands-on learning
Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
Passion for Catholic education and a commitment to the school’s mission and values
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a Level 2 background screening and safe environment training (as required by diocesan policy)
