Job Description
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district‑approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress, addressing specific educational needs, creating a flexible and safe learning environment, and providing feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding progress.

Essential Functions

Develop and administer school elementary curriculum consistent with school district goals.

Promote a safe and conducive classroom environment supporting individualized and small‑group instruction.

Develop lesson plans and instructional materials, translating plans into effective learning experiences.

Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning, adjusting instruction to meet individual needs, including students with special needs; provide individual and small‑group instruction as required.

Instruct students in responsible citizenship and other required subject matter per applicable laws and administrative regulations.

Continue professional development through seminars, workshops, professional meetings, or research.

Organize and maintain accurate record‑keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement, and attendance per district procedures.

Encourage parental involvement and maintain effective communication with students and parents.

Ensure student conduct aligns with school and district policies, establishing and maintaining behavior standards.

Coordinate with other elementary staff members on curriculum evaluation and participate in faculty meetings and committees.

Select and requisition appropriate books, instructional aids, and supplies, maintaining inventory records.

Supervise students outside the classroom during the school day, including transportation activities.

Administer standardized tests in accordance with district testing programs.

Additional Duties

Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Principal or central office administrators.

Equipment
Standard office equipment including personal computer, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.

Travel Requirements
Travel to district buildings and professional meetings as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, and ability to differentiate instruction based on learning styles.

Knowledge of elementary school curriculum and concepts.

Knowledge of data systems, data analysis, and formulation of action plans.

Knowledge of federal and state education laws.

Ability to use computer networks and software applications.

Ability to organize and coordinate work.

Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.

Ability to engage in self‑evaluation for professional growth.

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with colleagues.

Qualifications Profile

State certification as an Elementary Teacher.

State certification in the appropriate grade level (preferred).

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related discipline.

Master’s degree in a related area (preferred).

Experience
Successful prior teaching experience for appropriate grade levels (preferred).
