
2nd Grade Teacher

Job Summary
A Second grade Teacher is responsible for fostering a Christ-centered, academically excellent learning environment that nurtures the spiritual, intellectual, social and emotional growth of each student. The teacher will integrate Catholic values into all aspects of education, maintain high academic standards, and uphold the mission and vision of Immaculate Conception School.
Job Responsibilities
Faith Formation:
Model and promote Catholic values in all interactions.
Incorporate faith-based principles into lessons and activities.
Foster an inclusive environment reflecting Catholic teachings, including reverence, respect and responsibility.
Participate in liturgies, prayer services, and religious celebrations.
Instructional Excellence:
Develop lesson plans aligned with diocesan standards.
Use diverse teaching strategies, including differentiated instruction.
Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and a love of learning.
Integrate technology to enhance learning experiences.
Student Development:
Support students’ spiritual, academic and social‑emotional growth.
Maintain high expectations for behavior and achievement.
Assess student progress through informal and formal methods and use data to guide instruction.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with parents/guardians.
Community Engagement:
Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Support school events, activities, and Stewardship projects.
Model faith, service, and academic excellence for the school community.
Professional Growth:
Engage in ongoing professional development.
Reflect on teaching and seek feedback for improvement.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop strategies that support student success.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
Valid teaching credential or certification appropriate for elementary education.
Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
Strong knowledge of Catholic teachings and a commitment to faith‑based education.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
