Position Overview
Glastonbury ASTE Center, located at Glastonbury High School, is seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Long-Term Substitute Teacher for Agriscience for the fall 2026 semester. The successful candidate will deliver instruction and maintain continuity of learning in a well-established program, supporting students in both classroom and laboratory/shop settings.

Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with a dynamic team of AgriScience educators to teach a variety of AgriScience education courses in accordance with state, national and local standards.
Implement existing curriculum and lesson plans aligned to course standards and program expectations.
Deliver instruction that integrates hands-on, experiential learning in both classroom and lab/shop environments.
Supervise and ensure safe use of tools, equipment, and facilities in agricultural mechanics settings.
Facilitate student learning in topics such as animal systems, basic agricultural principles, and applied mechanical skills.
Assess student progress (including SAE) and maintain accurate records of grades and attendance.
Communicate effectively with students, families, and department staff to support student success.
Uphold all school and district policies, including safety protocols specific to agricultural education environments.
Qualifications
CT Certification Required
CT Teaching Endorsement 040 - Agriculture, PreK-12
CT Teaching Endorsement 041 - Vocational Agriculture, 7-12
