Job Description
Machina Labs is seeking a Buyer / Planner to support procurement and material planning activities for our Aerospace & Defense programs. This role will execute day‑to‑day purchasing operations, manage supplier relationships, and ensure materials and services are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Execute day‑to‑day procurement activities supporting Aerospace & Defense programs.

Review and process purchase requisitions; create and manage purchase orders through receipt and closure.

Source and support onboarding of suppliers including raw material vendors, CNC fabricators, and COTS suppliers.

Monitor supplier performance, delivery timelines, and cost controls to support project objectives.

Develop and maintain inventory forecasts aligned with production schedules and project demand.

Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to prevent production disruptions.

Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations.

Work within ERP/MRP systems to track purchasing activity, inventory levels, and material status.

Partner with Quality, Engineering, Finance, and suppliers to resolve non‑conforming materials and documentation issues.

Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and planning processes.

Basic Qualifications

4+ years of procurement or purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

Experience working within ERP/MRP systems.

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to relocate to the Los Angeles metro area (San Fernando Valley), if not local.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, operations, accounting, or related field.

Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (ISO 9001, AS 9100).

Strong negotiation and supplier management experience.

Experience using data analytics or reporting tools (BI tools, Tableau, advanced Excel).

Prior experience in Aerospace, Defense, or complex manufacturing supply chains.

Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $75,000 – $90,000 per year, and compensation will be based on experience, skills, and location. Additional benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, and stock options.
