Job Summary

Director, Business Operations Analysis Management. Direct/Manage/Supervise the analysis of the organization’s business operations to ensure strategic initiatives are aligned with corporate objectives. Help drive speed and agility in decision making, identify areas to eliminate duplicative work, remove barriers to progress, and accelerate stronger integration across business units and functions. Focus on business process (work activities, workflows, work activity procedures, mechanisms, roles, organization reporting relationships, etc.) and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Utilize business analysis related models and diagrams such as process maps, organizational structure diagrams, strategy maps, role reporting relationships, etc. to aid in proposing new strategies for successful business change. Study cross-departmental business processes for efficiency and communicate complex findings to leadership. Ensure practices are consistent with vision & initiatives, foundational pillars, and metrics of the university. First-level director. Assist executives and/or senior directors in defining organizational goals and strategic plans. Extensive business knowledge with comprehensive understanding of the organization and functional area.

Responsibilities

Director, Business Operations Analysis and Management for Facilities Mgmt/Ops, Planning and Construction Mgmt. Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across the University’s Facilities Mgmt/Ops and Planning and Construction Mgmt divisions, ensuring alignment with institutional goals, foundational pillars, and performance standards. Direct and manage business process analysis, organizational improvement initiatives, and capital project workflows that drive operational excellence, transparency, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Lead cross-functional initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce redundancies, and accelerate data-driven decision-making across Facilities as well as Planning and Construction Mgmt operations.

Evaluate and optimize business processes, organizational structures, and reporting systems to strengthen collaboration, compliance, and service delivery.

Apply business analysis frameworks—including process mapping, organizational modeling, and performance metrics—to assess and enhance operational systems.

Ensure operational practices align with University workforce policies, fiscal accountability standards, and applicable federal and state regulations (OSHA, ISO, ADA, FLSA), maintaining compliance while supporting divisional autonomy.

Develop and deliver data-informed insights and performance reports that translate complex operational analyses into strategic recommendations for executive leadership.

Support Facilities Mgmt/Ops, Planning and Construction Mgmt leaders in organizational design, workforce alignment, and policy standardization to improve communication, accountability, and sustainability.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement that fosters innovation, collaboration, and service excellence in campus operations and capital project delivery.

Oversee key capital improvement and facilities projects, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

Significant experience in business operations analysis, process optimization, and organizational design within higher education, facilities, or construction environments.

Proven success leading cross-functional teams and aligning business operations, workforce structures, and capital projects with institutional strategies.

Deep understanding of regulatory compliance and operational standards (OSHA, ISO, ADA, FLSA, and related federal/state frameworks).

Advanced proficiency in business analysis methodologies, workflow redesign, and performance measurement.

Demonstrated ability to translate complex operational data into clear, actionable strategies for executive decision-making.

Strong record of fostering collaboration, accountability, and a culture of service excellence across diverse functional units.

Minimum Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

Director level requires either a bachelor’s degree + 12 years or a master’s degree + 10 years of directly related work experience (or equivalent).

Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:

Director, Business Operations Analysis Management:

Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 12 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 10 years of directly related work experience.
