
Fleet Manager

KEP Electric is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Fleet Manager to oversee the management and operation of our vehicle fleet, supporting construction services for homebuilders and multi-family housing projects. This role is critical in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and safety of a divisional fleet of vehicles. The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence, optimize fleet performance, and maintain full compliance with all regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee maintenance, repair, and daily operations of light-duty vehicles, heavy equipment, and specialized machinery
Develop strategies to improve fleet utilization, reduce downtime, and control costs
Manage preventative maintenance programs to ensure safe, reliable operations
Ensure compliance with DOT and all local, state, and federal regulations
Monitor and manage fleet budget (fuel, maintenance, replacement planning)
Maintain accurate records (maintenance, registrations, insurance, inspections)
Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service providers
Lead and develop fleet staff, promoting a culture of safety and accountability
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field
5+ years of fleet management experience (construction industry preferred)
Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle and equipment maintenance
Experience with fleet management systems/software
DOT experience highly preferred
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Work Environment
Combination of office and field-based work
Regular visits to job sites, maintenance facilities, and outdoor environments
Exposure to construction site conditions and varying weather
Physical Requirements
Ability to walk job sites and inspect vehicles/equipment
Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing
Ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs occasionally
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between locations
License Required: Yes
