Qualifications

Parents as Teachers certification preferred. Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Must possess a valid driver's license and have transportation (for home/community visits)

Previous experience in home visiting and parenting education to adults or teens individually or in small groups preferred

Ability to work with community agencies

Strong interpersonal and writing skills

Ability to organize and operate independently

Ability to effectively communicate and interact with parents and staff orally and in writing

Previous experience working with parents and infants/toddlers preferred

Working knowledge of computer programs Microsoft Word, Microsoft products and familiarity with database software programs preferred.

Job Description

Facilitates parent education workshops, playgroups and family development programs, including home and personal visit using Parents as Teachers curriculum

Facilitates support and training for family child care providers

Cooperate with related service and support staff of the FRC, elementary school and community agencies to facilitate identification and services to young children and their families

Assists the FRC Coordinator and staff in planning, implementing and evaluating programs and services offered through the Family Resource Center

Assist in the coordination of outreach and program scheduling

Assist in the evaluation and effectiveness of program activities periodically and keeps current with trends and developments in the field

Provide developmental screenings for infants and toddlers involved in the program

Follow all guidelines as required by PAT National Center, including certification requirements

Recommends and arranges for new programs as needed

Assists in the collaboration with local and state agencies

Maintains files, document ongoing progress and statistics

Assist in the promotion of the FRC in the community

Assist in the publication of bimonthly newsletter for program participants and home day care providers

Complete all required reporting in a timely manner

Develop and maintain knowledge of community agencies

Assist in general office duties as needed

Responsible for assuming additional duties as agreed upon with the Supervisor of the FRC
