
Science Tutor - Part Time

Science Tutor - 4 Hours Per Day - VHHS
An academic resource tutor will work one on one or in small groups with students who seek academic support.
Reports to: Associate Principal for Teaching and Learning Science Department Chair
Employee status: Educational Support Personnel - Direct Paraprofessional ESP Bargaining Union
Calendar: 178 Student Attendance Days, 10:00am - 2:00pm
Qualifications: Paraprofessional License Experiences in educational/school setting is beneficial Evidence of subject matter competency preferred (i.e. degree major in content area, ISBE professional educator license with appropriate content area endorsement, work in related field, etc.)
Professional/Personal Characteristics:
Previous experience in an educational setting preferred
Excellent organizational skills and time management skills
Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently under varying deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to identify sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
Proficient with Google G-Suite, office and phone equipment
Ability to work as part of an educational team to support the needs of individual or groups of students
Job Responsibilities:
Provide drop-in tutoring support for students.
Individual and/or group tutoring will focus on reviewing concepts, homework, and additional practice.
Collaborate with the MTSS team in the development and implementation of tutoring.
Assist students in accessing online resources.
New duties may be designed as the position evolves and/or further needs are identified.
Candidates will be selected by Administration based on above criteria.
