July 7 - July 30, 2026, Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday, up to 4 hours per day at the Elementary or the JSHS.
Pay Rate
$60 per hour
Summary
Extended School Year Teacher to work collaboratively to help students develop proficient reading skills that will contribute to their academic growth through direct instruction. Reading interventionists work extensively with students to help them improve specific reading skills such as letter-naming, initial sounds, phoneme segmentation, and comprehension strategies.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, Reading, or related field preferred. NH DOE Certification per Ed 501.02 (z). Instructional Specialist. Familiarity with a range of evidence-based reading intervention programs. Experience working within school settings. Demonstrated commitment to a collaborative team approach.
Knowledge, Ability, Skill
Knowledge
Knowledge of best practices of principles associated with reading instruction. Familiar with the MTSS process and Tiered Instruction.
Ability
Ability to listen, observe and interact in a positive and effective manner with people at all levels of society. Ability to deal tactfully, patiently, and appropriately with students. Ability to provide direct instruction and analyze assessment results to determine specific areas of need.
Skills
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to create a supportive network for students. Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding student progress and intervention strategies. Strong coordination/organizational skills.
Supervision
Received: Works under the direction of the Building Principal. Exercised: None.
Work is performed under typical small group and one-on-one instructional conditions.
Operates computer, printer, calculator, copier, facsimile machine, and other standard office equipment.
Contacts are by phone, through correspondence, and in person; they generally consist of an information exchange dialogue, discussing student intervention plans and progress as assessed and observed.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding student progress and intervention strategies.
Employee has access to confidential student information related to assignments.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, communicate, or hear; occasionally required to walk, must be able to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Vision and hearing at or correctable to normal ranges. This position requires the ability to operate a keyboard and calculator at an efficient speed.
