Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (exceptions related to certification).
Missouri teaching certificate in the area of assignment.
Successful completion of the Missouri Teacher Competency Exam, if applicable.
Experience commensurate with assignment.
Responsibilities
Provide a quality instructional program for students; complete teaching duties necessary to the district’s educational program.
Essential Job Functions include:
Cause students to actively participate and be successful in the learning process.
Help students acquire knowledge and skills to gather, analyze, and apply information and ideas.
Help students acquire knowledge and skills to communicate effectively within and beyond the classroom.
Help students acquire knowledge and skills to recognize and solve problems.
Help students acquire knowledge and skills to make decisions and act as responsible members of society.
Use various forms of assessment to monitor and manage student learning.
Use ongoing assessments to monitor instructional effectiveness.
Provide continuous feedback to students and families.
Assist students in the development of self-assessment skills.
Align assessments with goals, objectives, and instructional strategies of the district curriculum guides.
Use assessment techniques appropriate to varied characteristics and developmental needs of students.
Demonstrate appropriate preparation for instruction.
Choose and implement appropriate methodology and varied instructional strategies that address diversity of learners.
Create a positive learning environment.
Effectively manage student behaviors.
Communicate appropriately with students, parents, community, and staff.
Engage in professional development activities consistent with the goals and objectives of the building, district, and state.
Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations of the building and district.
Assist in maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
Collaborate in the development and/or implementation of the district’s vision, mission, and goals.
Terms of Employment
A standard teaching contract is 178 days; extended or part‑time contracts are prorated.
Compensation is according to the teacher salary schedule as established annually by the Board of Education.
Benefits are according to the total FTE of employment for the individual.
Evaluation
Performance will be evaluated according to board policies and the Warrensburg R‑VI School District adopted model of Performance Based Teacher Evaluation.
