to join our Independent Living team. If you enjoy helping seniors stay active, engaged, and connected, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
Schedule:
Must have availability to work every other weekend.
Position Overview:
As an Activities Assistant, you’ll help coordinate and lead both group and individual activities that enrich the lives of our residents. This role involves personal interaction with a diverse resident population and may require a flexible schedule, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in planning and delivering engaging activities under the direction of the Life Enrichment Director
Set up and prepare spaces for scheduled programs and events
Escort and assist residents to and from activities
Encourage and support resident participation
Monitor and document participation and resident responses
Support seasonal decorating throughout campus
Help maintain and organize supplies, materials, and storage areas
Promote and participate in community-wide events, special observances, and staff activities
Continue activity programming in the absence of the Life Enrichment Director
Develop and coordinate meaningful programs including entertainment, workshops, classes, and seminars
Build relationships with residents to better tailor programs to their interests and abilities
Collaborate with outside organizations and resources to bring enriching experiences into the community
Track attendance, create flyers, and contribute to community newsletters and communications
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with seniors in an activities or life enrichment role
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Creative, energetic, and organized
Able to work independently and follow scheduled plans
Team-oriented with a respectful and positive attitude
Committed to preserving resident rights and dignity
Able to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Associate’s degree preferred but not required
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs
Frequent walking, standing, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting required
