Lead Landscaper
Location: Allegria Village Senior Living

Overview
We are seeking a Lead Landscaper to oversee and maintain the beauty, safety, and functionality of all exterior spaces at our senior living campus. This role provides leadership, training, and coordination for our groundskeeping team, ensuring a welcoming environment for residents, guests, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, schedule, and supervise daily activities of groundskeeping staff.

Maintain lawns, trees, gardens, shrubbery, and landscaped areas.

Ensure upkeep of parking lots, sidewalks, courtyards, patios, and other exterior common areas.

Oversee seasonal tasks, including leaf collection, snow removal, salting, and irrigation.

Operate and maintain landscaping equipment; implement preventive maintenance schedules.

Install and maintain signage, fencing, and decorative outdoor features.

Identify and address safety hazards promptly (e.g., icy sidewalks, fallen branches).

Train and mentor junior groundskeepers in equipment use, landscaping techniques, and safety protocols.

Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and chemicals safely and in compliance with environmental regulations.

Assist residents with gardening projects when appropriate.

Support large facility initiatives, such as planting projects, outdoor renovations, or community events.

Maintain supply inventories and report equipment/facility needs to management.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

3–5 years of groundskeeping or landscaping experience; supervisory or lead experience preferred.

Skilled in operation and maintenance of landscaping equipment (mowers, blowers, trimmers, snow removal machinery).

Knowledge of horticulture, turf care, and pest/disease management.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities across a large campus.

Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively.

Education & Certification

High School Diploma or GED required.

Pesticide/chemical application certification preferred.

Valid driver’s license required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Frequent walking, standing, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, lifting, and stretching.

Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
