Recreational Sports Coordinator

* Provide fiscal oversight in achieving intramural sports, club sports and Javelina Gaming Lounge.

Monitor monthly, quarterly and annual financial targets for revenue and expense budgets.* Administers, develops, and implements program and facility policies, procedures, and risk management practices.* Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, in-service education sessions, and other divisional or departmental meetings.* Ensure that the Recreation Sports facilities, equipment, and programs are meeting or exceeding the standards of the department’s quality by using and attending its offerings.* Conduct player education/disciplinary meetings as needed.* Hires, trains, schedules, and evaluates intramural officials, intramural supervisors, and student coordinators.* Assist in planning, organizing, scheduling, administration, and team/participant registration process using provided technology, for producing a comprehensive intramural program including leagues, tournaments, and special events.* Provide on-site supervision and program/personnel evaluation as necessary.* Assist in the formation, review, and enforcement of all policies and procedures relating to intramurals, including annual revisions of all sport rules and regulations as well as the TAMUK campus and departmental policies.* Engage in department-coordinated trainings with a focus on leadership, access, and community building.* Manage, maintain and purchase necessary equipment needed for intramurals and Javelina Gaming Lounge in accordance with Texas A&M System and State of Texas compliance.* Ensure compliance of university and state travel policies.* Assist in the formation, review, and enforcement of all policies and procedures relating to intramurals, including annual revisions of all sport rules and regulations as well as the TAMUK campus and departmental policies.* Use university procedural knowledge as well as area expertise to address and resolve pertinent issues primarily independently. Communicate resolutions clearly with appropriate parties.* Work collaboratively with Rec Sports marketing team to create, manage, and implement any media and promotional needs.* Participate in other departmental or divisional initiatives, programs, and committees as required.* Participate in the development of ideas and suggestions for the Recreational Sports program and facility improvements.* Ensure that the Recreation Sports facilities, equipment, and programs are meeting or exceeding the standards of the department’s quality by using and attending its offerings.* Contribute as part of the Recreational Sports Leadership Team and provide recommendations and support at needed to the Director of Recreational Sports.* Manage correspondences and communication in a professional manner.* Work directly with Recreational Sports events and facilities staff in coordinating all facets of Intramural Sports scheduling of events.* Master’s degree in Recreation or Sports Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.* Experience with Fusion, Fusion Play, Sub-It-Up, preferred.* CPR CPR/AED/First Aid Certified Instructor by a reputable sanctioning body.* Experience as a Graduate Assistantship.* CPR/AED/First Aid Certified by a reputable sanctioning body or acquire within 60 days.* One to three years of related experience.* Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing* Ability to positively and professionally interact with students, faculty and staff.* Excellent communication and presentation skills* Strong interpersonal and organizational skills* Working knowledge of office software and instructional programs* Skilled in utilizing various learning and active listening strategies* Ability to orally comprehend and express information and use inductive and deductive reasoning* Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others* A welcoming campus community* Opportunities for professional development* Competitive benefits through the Texas A&M University System* A rewarding experience of helping students achieve their academic and career goals* Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) or Optional Retirement Plan (ORP), dependent on position* Voluntary Tax Deferred Account/Deferred Compensation Plan* Ability to work outdoors exposed to various weather conditions, potential allergens, elevated noise levels, and heat* Ability to move up to 50 lbs with assistance* Ability to move light, medium or heavy objects with assistance.* Ability to stand and/or sit for long period of times.* This position is security sensitive* This position will require export-control authorization prior to starting employment.* This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies, regulations, rules and procedures* All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and University safety requirements* This position may require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends* This position may direct and/or evaluate the work of othersThe Texas A&M University System is one of the largest systems of higher education in the nation, with a statewide network of twelve universities, eight state agencies, a comprehensive health science center, Texas A&M-Fort Worth and Texas A&M-RELLIS.The A&M System is committed to providing an educational and work environment that is conducive to the personal and professional development of each employee.Each member institution provides equal opportunity and access to all students, employees and prospective employees.
