TITLE:
Assistant Varsity Girls Basketball Coach
DEPARTMENT:
7-12 Athletic Department
REPORTS TO:
Activities Directory
RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM:
Activities Director, Building Principal, and Other Coaches
BASIC FUNCTION:
Ensure each participating student athlete acquires the knowledge of skills and fundamentals of the sport, appreciates the values of discipline and sportsmanship, fosters teamwork, and supports the development of self-esteem.
Knowledge and Education
Required:
Bachelor's degree or higher
Valid state certificate/endorsement to coach
Proficiency in the assigned coaching area
Desired:
Previous experience in a similar position

Adhere to school and district policies and procedures
Demonstrate punctuality and regular attendance
Organize and lead a team that positively impacts the activities and athletics department
Maintain confidentiality and communicate athletes’ needs/concerns with supervisor
Maintain appropriate appearance and attire for the school environment
Perform other duties as assigned by athletic & activities director
Terms of Employment:
Wage and work year to be established in accordance with provisions of the Comprehensive Agreement.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Comprehensive Agreement.
Physical Requirements:
Bending, carrying, climbing, travel between job sites, lifting, pushing-pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, and walking.
Working Conditions:
Includes extremes of temperature and humidity. Hazards include stairs and communicable diseases.
