Natural Resources Technician 2 – Deer Creek State Park
We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors to serve as a Natural Resources Technician 2 at Deer Creek State Park.

Compensation
Starting hourly wage: $20.85/hr. Salary increases over the first 4 years, with a maximum of $22.96/hr. Longevity pay supplements begin after five years of state service. Cost‑of‑living adjustments may apply.

Schedule
Full‑time. Work hours vary and may include nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

Work outdoors in Ohio’s parks.

Provide customer service and ensure customer satisfaction and safety.

Maintain campground facilities, grounds, and equipment.

Maintain park equipment and vehicles.

Perform field operations in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, roofing, masonry, and operating hand and power tools.

Interact daily with park visitors and watercraft users.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

6 months training or experience in semi‑skilled maintenance (minor electrical repair, rough plumbing, carpentry & masonry).

6 months training or experience in equipment safety practices.

6 months training or experience in use of shop, hand & power tools.

6 months training or experience in operation of mowers & trucks.

6 months training or experience in equipment maintenance.

Valid driver’s license (Car & Truck).

Or 6 months experience as a Natural Resources Technician 1.

Or equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
