Position Summary
The Northridge Local School District is seeking a qualified and dedicated Middle School Math Teacher to provide high‑quality mathematics instruction to students in grades 6‑8. The successful candidate will foster a positive and engaging learning environment, deliver standards‑based math instruction aligned with Ohio Learning Standards, and support students' academic and social‑emotional growth. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues to promote student achievement and mathematical proficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plan and deliver standards‑based mathematics instruction aligned with Ohio Learning Standards for Mathematics.
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote conceptual understanding, problem‑solving, and mathematical reasoning.
Use a variety of instructional strategies and technology to support diverse learners.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students, including those with IEPs, 504 plans, and gifted learners.
Assess and monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments; maintain accurate and timely records.
Provide targeted interventions and enrichment opportunities based on student data.
Create and maintain a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
Support students' social, emotional, and behavioral development.
Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
Collaborate with grade‑level teams, intervention specialists, and support staff to improve student outcomes.
Participate in professional development, data team meetings, and district initiatives.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all district policies, procedures, and state regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Education (required).
Valid Ohio teaching license in Middle Childhood Education (Grades 4‑9) with a concentration in Mathematics, or Adolescence to Young Adult (Grades 7‑12) Mathematics (required or ability to obtain).
Demonstrated knowledge of Ohio Learning Standards for Mathematics and best instructional practices.
Understanding of adolescent development and middle school philosophy.
Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to use data to inform instruction and improve student achievement.
Experience integrating educational technology into instruction (preferred).
Working Conditions
Standard school‑day schedule with occasional extended hours for meetings, conferences, and school events.
Participation in school‑related activities, professional development, and district initiatives.
