Position: Substitute Special Education Aide & Specialized Classroom Aide
Performance Responsibilities
Supports the student(s) in recitation, reading, and other curriculum tasks, guiding and helping, but not teaching.
Under supervision of the intervention specialist teacher, works one on one or with small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher.
Performs clerical duties such as running copies, putting up bulletin board, preparing materials, etc.
Implements teacher-directed interventions to support pupil performance objectives.
Assists students where necessary in accomplishing self-help skills and gradually decrease support as appropriate.
Assists in documentation of pupil performance.
Assists in toileting needs, including diapering.
Will work with student(s) who has medical needs which could include tube feedings, insulin testing, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Must be able to pass a BCI&I and FBI criminal background check.
Must be willing to apply for an Eductional Aide Permit through the Ohio Department of Education.
Interested individuals must complete an application in the AppliTrack system.
