RN Inpatient Wound/Ostomy Part Time - Osborn

Position Overview
The Wound and Ostomy inpatient nurse independently sees new consults and follow up patients in the hospital setting. These include a variety of situations that require critical thinking and choice of treatment planning including multiple wound care scenarios, bed selection, pressure injury prevention, skin care, and teaching patients, families, and direct care nurses. Ostomy teaching for new and existing patients and Ostomy markings. Wound VACs, including highly complex wounds from trauma surgeons. Our inpatient wound team is looking to add a highly motivated, hardworking member to support our two experienced, dedicated, exceptional WOCN nurses. You will be part of, and supported by, our inpatient team which is also part of our Wound and Hyperbaric Clinic. The opportunity for cross training to the clinic will be available, if desired, and as schedule permits. You will also be supported by our Wound NP if anything needs to be escalated.

Required:

wound care experience, Must be able to work independently and collaborate with coworkers, physicians, and direct care nurses, time management, organization and communication skills

Preferred:

wound care certified (WOCN), inpatient wound care experience

Responsibilities

Possess knowledge of collecting health data systematically, prioritizing data collection, and involving the family; analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and develop patient plans of care that are family centered, developmentally and age-appropriate, and culturally relevant.

Identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient and specific health problems; develop plans of care reflecting current nursing practice that is evidence-based, ensuring continuity of care.

Implement interventions, initiate treatments, medications, emergency and resuscitative measures according to policies and procedures; provide nursing care addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, and social‑cultural needs using a family‑centered approach.

Evaluate patient progress toward outcomes; document observations, nursing interventions, and therapeutic measures, ensuring quality and effectiveness of the care plan.

Evaluate own practice relative to professional standards and regulations; maintain current nursing knowledge and practice quality.

Integrate ethical principles; enhance knowledge of culturally diverse populations.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; engage patients, families, and care providers.

Develop and evaluate evidence‑based standards of care; facilitate adoption of evidence‑based practices.

Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, and cost in planning and delivery of care using resources efficiently.

Education

Other / Certificate: All Diploma and ADN hires must complete a BSN within 60 months of hire or have 5+ years RN experience (direct or indirect) at hire.

Required

Associates or Diploma in Nursing.

Required

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Preferred

Experience

Other: >10 months in med‑surg or acute specialty setting.

Required

1 year RN experience for all Float Positions.

Required

Licenses and Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS).

Required

Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Arizona.

Required

National certification for unit specific patient population.

Preferred
