Responsibilities
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
Maintain professional behavior, appearance, and work ethic to represent the school district positively at all times.
Demonstrate relentless commitment to the academic achievement of all students.
Establish and maintain an orderly classroom environment in which students actively participate.
Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the district’s curriculum program requirements.
Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect an understanding of students' learning styles and needs.
Teach district‑approved curriculum based on state frameworks and standards.
Conduct an assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP).
Work with other staff members to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
Plan and supervise instructional assistant(s) and volunteer(s) assignments.
Use technology to strengthen the teaching and learning process.
Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through interim and formative assessments.
Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned—sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal.
Be a positive role model for students and support the school district’s mission.
Manage student behavior per student policies and the student handbook.
Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
Establish and maintain open communication with parents and students concerning academic and behavioral progress.
Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
Participate in professional development activities to improve job‑related skills.
Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations for classroom teachers.
Compile, maintain, and file all required reports, records, and other documents.
Assume responsibility for assigned non‑teaching duties.
Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
Assist the administration in implementing all policies and student‑life rules.
Develop reasonable classroom behavior and procedure rules and maintain order fairly and justly.
Attend all staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
Adhere to District, State, and Arkansas Activities Association’s regulations regarding eligibility of players.
Actively lead and participate with the coaching staff in the skill development of all players.
Communicate high expectations of all involved in the tennis program, including school administration, staff, students, parents, and community.
Establish a culture of respect among coaches, players, parents, and the community.
Work directly with the booster club to enhance the relationship between the school staff and the community.
Creatively foster academic and athletic success.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
Valid Arkansas teaching certificate with required endorsements for the assigned subject and level, or ability to obtain one.
Applicants with an out‑of‑state teaching certificate must provide documentation of reciprocity procedures.
Pass a preliminary criminal background and child maltreatment check.
Appropriate personal and professional conduct at all times while around students, staff, and members of the public.
Complete Science of Reading Awareness training within 30 days of hire.

Willingness and ability to take on teaching and coaching responsibilities.
