Qualifications

Colorado teaching license with an appropriate Elementary endorsement required.

Additional endorsement in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education preferred, or willingness to pursue endorsement or equivalent coursework.

K-3 teachers must provide documentation of evidence-based literacy training, Read Act Designation, per CDE requirements.

Job Responsibilities

Participate in professional development to support academic growth.

Incorporate the 10 common principles from the Coalition of Essential Schools into all aspects of the school day.

Implement effective strategies for supporting positive student behavior.

Establish and maintain effective classroom management.

Participate in data teams with teammates to interpret data and plan next steps.

Commit to using a variety of instructional deliveries, including cooperative learning, authentic assessments, and inquiry-based instruction.

Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to a standards-based system of planning and delivering instruction and assessment.

Align intervention processes with standards and assessments established by the District and State.

Assist in the development and implementation of exhibitions of student learning.

Deliver district and school initiatives with fidelity.

Engage in collaboration with all stakeholders to carry out the mission of the school.

Collaborate with administrators, instructional guides, and colleagues to provide a responsive and supportive environment for all learners.

Demonstrate and hold high expectations for all students to succeed.

Show willingness and ability to meet the diverse needs of learners—including students with special needs, at-risk, linguistically, and culturally diverse—by adjusting curriculum and working cooperatively with other staff.

Participate in research-based professional development to enhance instructional practices.

Training

Mandatory Title IX training is required by the Colorado Department of Education and for all public school employees.

You will have two mandatory training courses that must be completed within 30 days of your date of hire and are required to be completed on your own time.
