Job Description
Olentangy Schools is seeking qualified candidates for a
Long‑term District Pool Substitute
position at Peachblow Crossing Elementary for the 2026-27 school year. District Pool Substitutes are assigned to a primary building within the district but may be directed to an alternate assignment based on daily need.
Ensure the safety of students.
Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter.
Create a classroom environment conducive to learning.
Follow the scope and sequence of the instructional program.
Observe the ethics of the teaching profession.
Qualified candidates will be employed through the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio (ESC of Central Ohio), must hold or be eligible to hold valid and appropriate licensure from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, and be active on Frontline Absence Management as a certified substitute for the ESC of Central Ohio.
Compensation: District Pool Substitutes are paid $170 per workday and $180 per workday for days 61+ provided a 100% attendance rate (a 95% quarterly attendance rate is required to maintain the daily rate). Up to three paid calamity days are available. District health insurance benefits are not offered for certified substitute teachers.
Application Process
Submit an external online application via the Applicant Tracking system (SchoolSpring) and complete the online Teacher Candidate Assessment. Include a letter of interest and current resume in the Attachments section of the application. The assessment is timed; please allocate approximately 45 minutes of uninterrupted time. Once the assessment is started, it must be completed within the allotted time and multiple attempts are not permitted.
Job Requirements
High School or Trade School degree preferred.
