CMT Field Technician 2
role ready to perform field and laboratory testing of construction materials and committed to doing meaningful work, then this is your moment. You’ll Perform field and laboratory materials testing; document and communicate results; verify compliance with plans, specifications, QA/QC, and safety requirements; maintain equipment and records; coordinate schedules; and support project teams and junior staff on active construction sites.

Core Responsibilities
Perform field and laboratory testing of construction materials (concrete, soils, aggregates, asphalt, masonry, grout) in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and federal standards.
Conduct and document concrete testing, including slump, air, temperature, unit weight, compressive strength, SCC testing, and specimen preparation.
Collect, label, transport, and maintain custody of test samples in compliance with federal QA/QC and documentation requirements.
Complete accurate field reports, test data, daily logs, time sheets, and expense reports suitable for federal project records.
Verify materials, construction methods, and placement activities comply with approved plans, specifications, and contract documents.
Communicate test results, nonconformances, and field observations professionally with project teams, contractors, and authorities.
Follow QA/QC procedures, assist with quality program implementation, and participate in corrective action processes.
Maintain testing equipment and calibration status; adhere to OSHA, site‑specific safety requirements, and mentor junior technicians as needed.

Must be US Citizen as required by client contract.
A high school diploma or GED, with technical or vocational coursework in construction, materials testing, or a related field preferred.
The ability to read and follow procedures, communicate clearly in writing and verbally, and maintain strong attention to detail.
A strong work ethic, commitment to continuous learning, and willingness to earn OSHA 10 and industry certifications (ACI, WAQTC, ICC).
The physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work outdoors, stand for extended periods, and adapt to varying job conditions.
A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, proof of insurance, and the ability to pass pre‑employment and random drug tests.
A cooperative, professional approach to working with the public, contractors, and team members, plus flexibility to travel and work varied schedules.
A willingness to pursue relevant certifications (ACI, ICC, WAQTC), a general understanding of construction, and basic math and writing skills.
Strong computer skills, attention to detail, and can accurately complete field reports, timecards, and expenses.
Professional communication skills and respond promptly to calls and emails.
