
Parking Attendant

Job Summary
3CDC Currently Owns 9 Parking Facilities and 7 Surface Lots within the Downtown Cincinnati. The Parking Attendant supported by the 1st Shift Management Officers, Events Management Officer, Maintenance team, and facilities staff will man and maintain a parking structure or several parking structures during the prescribed shift. Ideal candidates will be expected to operate within their scheduled location with minimal supervision.
Tasks
The Attendant's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working with Facilities Management Officers, Events Management Officer, Maintenance team, and facilities staff to:
Perform all maintenance and cleaning tasks noted in the checklist and as directed by the Facilities Management Team to ensure that all dirt, dust, litter, and debris is removed from all areas of the facility using brooms, mops, brushes, and other hand tools.
Walk garage daily to note and correct any maintenance problems.
Sweep and pick up around the entrances and exits to the garage and stairwells as well as clean surface area rails, etc. on all levels, the booth, the office, and rest rooms.
Empty all trashcans in the garage, the booth, and the office.
Replace burned out bulbs.
Apply oil absorbent to oil spills.
Communicate effectively with other team members.
Check conditions of safety items, such as gate arms to ensure clearance bars are secure.
Check ticket spitters and gates daily for proper operations, ticket supply, accuracy of time on clock and general appearance.
Shovel, plow or blow snow from the entrance or exit ramps and in areas designated by the Facility Manager using shovels, snow blowers and other light duty equipment.
Report any unknown, observed, or suspected violations of company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to the Facility Manager in a timely manner.
Assist customers within the facility or as directed by the Facility Manager/Supervisor.
Resolve customer complaints independently or with the aid of a supervisor.
Have a thorough knowledge of all areas of the garage, thorough knowledge of the major streets, landmarks, and freeways around the assigned facility.
Be familiar with all aspects of the operation and cover other duties including cashier, attendant, etc. on an as-needed basis.
Maintain a neat and clean appearance and arrive and remain in complete uniform before and during scheduled shifts.
Write and issue violation warnings to tenants and visitors that violate garage policies.
Control traffic at entrances and exits as needed.
Manage, assist, and direct traffic during events that draw a higher-than-normal volume to the facility.
Conduct scheduled, accurate car counts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Ability to work and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Ability to remain calm and work effectively under pressure.
Personable, positive, and enthusiastic attitude with capability to deal effectively with people.
Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
Be able to maintain a neat and clean appearance and be in the appropriate uniform at all times.
Physical and Mental Demands
Ability to perform manual labor.
Spending time outdoors, often standing up, for long periods of time.
Work hours will include nights and weekends as needed.
Frequently required to sit at a desk/workstation for long periods of time.
Ability to work at a computer terminal for an extended period.
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment.
Able to speak and hear employees on the phone or in person.
Body motor skills sufficient to enable employee to move around the office environment.
Additional mental requirements: compare, decide directly, problem solve, analyze, instruct, and interpret.
The ability to work well under stress.
