Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an approved education program in the subject area.
North Carolina teaching license.
Nature of Work
To plan, instruct, and organize instructional environments that help students learn subject matter and skills that contribute to their educational and social development.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to constantly monitor the safety and well‑being of students, especially during inclusive activities.
Ability to motivate students.
Ability to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
Ability to perform general clerical duties.
Ability to maintain order and discipline in a classroom.
Ability to operate common office machines.
Ability to maintain basic files and records.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by work assignments.
Essential Job Functions
Prepare materials, supplies, and equipment for each lesson, start class quickly, keep students on task, and maintain high time‑on‑task.
Establish rules and procedures for administrative matters, student participation, and class movement; monitor behavior and enforce rules consistently while maintaining student dignity.
Begin lesson with a review of previous material, introduce learning objectives, present content clearly, provide examples, assign tasks, ask appropriate questions, manage learning pace, transition smoothly between activities, and summarize key points.
Maintain clear work standards, circulate during class, check performance, and use oral/write materials to assess progress.
Provide feedback on in‑class work, encourage growth, and address incorrect responses with follow‑up.
Develop instructional plans aligned with curricular goals and assessment data, maintain accurate records, and use resources effectively.
Treat all students fairly and equitably, interact with students, co‑workers, parents, and community.
Carry out non‑instructional duties as assigned and pursue professional development.
Uphold the Code of Ethics and Standards for Professional Conduct.
Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
