The Chicago Marriott O’Hare is looking for a Barista to join our hotel team!
Overview
The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee beverages and light food items while delivering exceptional guest service. This role creates a welcoming café experience for hotel guests and associates by maintaining cleanliness, efficiency, and a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and specialty beverages to brand standards
Take guest orders accurately and process payments (cash, credit, room charges)
Provide friendly, engaging, and personalized service to hotel guests and associates
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including equipment and seating areas
Restock supplies such as cups, lids, syrups, and food items
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and allergen procedures
Monitor product quality and ensure consistency in every beverage served
Assist with opening and closing duties (setup, cleaning, cash handling)
Promote menu items and upsell when appropriate
Communicate effectively with team members and leadership
Qualifications
Previous barista or food & beverage experience preferred
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Basic math skills for handling transactions
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
Frequent reaching, bending, and repetitive hand movements
Availability
Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
