St. George Parish School serves 278 students from Preschool - 8th Grade. We celebrate our diverse community. 84% of our population are students of color from many different cultures. We are diverse economically, as well, with 30% of our students qualifying for tuition assistance. Our teachers are fully committed and highly effective in providing a rigorous foundational education for our students as evidenced by our students\' strong standardized test scores. Our teachers believe in the importance of collaboration and are supportive of each other. We have built strong partnerships with our parents, and our students are fully engaged, both of which have led to a family-like atmosphere throughout the school.
Currently, we are searching for a dynamic and fully committed educator who can skillfully take on the role of Kindergarten Instructional Assistant. We highly encourage educators of color to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students
Help students develop early literacy, math, and social skills
Participation in religious activities, school Mass, and prayer services
Support the integration of Catholic teachings and values into daily instruction
Participate in prayer, religious activities, and liturgical celebrations with students
Model Christian values such as kindness, respect, compassion, and responsibility
Prepare instructional materials and organize classroom resources
Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and transitions
Support classroom management and reinforce positive behavior strategies aligned with Catholic values
Assist with assessing student progress and documenting observations
Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and families
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate/ Bachelor Degree or course work in Education preferred)
Experience working with young children, preferably in a school
Basic knowledge of early childhood development principles
Understanding of and respect for the mission of Catholic education
Willingness to support and model Catholic teachings and practices
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Compensation: Gross salary for 40 hours a week for 37 weeks is $32,560 - $41,440. This role comes with a full benefit package that includes medical, dental, vision and 401K.
