What you will be doing as an Aircraft Parts Painter
You can expect to prepare, and spray paint a variety of aircraft parts. Your responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
Preparation of aircraft parts:
Check parts to ensure they are clean and not damaged before hand-sanding the surfaces for a smooth surface before masking and priming.
Select and adjust spray gun per the instructions while mixing paint according to the specifications.
Painting various aircraft parts:
Use painting techniques (i.e. spray paint, dip paint) to coat all crevices of aircraft parts with primer or paint based on specifications.
Carefully inspect parts to ensure no dirt, dust, or other foreign objects appear in paintwork before baking in oven.
What you need to be successful
High School education, GED, or a Bronze Level WorkKeys certification is required.
At least one year of manufacturing spray painting or related experience is required.
Experience using polyurethane, Hexamine chromium, and various types of paint is helpful.
Attention to detail and ability to read paint (i.e. wet, dry, blotchy) is helpful to ensure efficiency. Textron Aviation Inc. must comply with U.S export control laws and regulations. If a position requires access to sensitive information controlled under these laws and regulations, a successful applicant must be eligible to meet any requirements to access controlled information.
