INTEK is seeking energetic and motivated individuals to join our Brookings team for the summer season! As a Summer Residence Hall Cleaning Technician, you will play a vital role in our intensive summer turnover process at South Dakota State University. We are looking for reliable team players who can help us transform high-traffic dormitories into sparkling, move-in-ready spaces for the upcoming academic year. This is a full-time seasonal position running from May 11th through August 20th, making it an ideal opportunity for those looking for consistent summer income. Work hours are scheduled from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, allowing you to complete your workday early and enjoy your summer evenings and weekends off.
Essential Functions:
Prepare student rooms for the next occupant by performing deep-cleans including dusting all surfaces, cleaning interior windows, wiping out desks/closets, and sanitizing mattresses and bed frames.
Go beyond routine maintenance to perform high-detail cleaning of student lounges, lobbies, study areas, and hallways to restore them to "like-new" condition.
Perform heavy-duty scrubbing, descaling, and disinfecting of communal bathrooms, showers, and fixtures to meet health and safety standards.
Execute tasks including high-volume vacuuming, detailed wet-mopping, and thorough degreasing of shared kitchenette and breakroom surfaces.
Work effectively within specific "turnover windows" to ensure entire floors or buildings are move-in ready for summer camps or fall orientation.
Interact professionally and positively with college students, faculty, and campus staff.
Work quickly and effectively to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for residents and visitors.
