Your Role as a Pre‑K Assistant Teacher

Assist the NC Pre‑K Lead Teacher in overseeing classroom activities, adhering to NC Division of Child Development and Early Education standards, and aligning with the current NC Pre‑K curriculum. You will help create a nurturing and positive atmosphere for children and families, support planning and implementation of learning experiences that promote physical health, social‑emotional growth, cognitive abilities, and creative expression, and contribute to observing and assessing children’s development to customize the curriculum to each child’s unique needs.
Requirements

To be considered, you must be at least 18 years old and meet the following qualifications:
Pass a background check.
Hold a high school diploma or GED.
Be working toward or hold an associate degree in birth‑through‑kindergarten, child development, early childhood education, or a related field, or have a CDA credential.
Possess empathy and understanding of children’s needs and development.
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Show flexibility and adaptability to meet community needs and respond to changing circumstances.
Be capable of meeting the physical demands of working with children.
