Job Description
UT Tyler University Academy (UTTUA) is an open-enrollment charter school serving students in Tyler, Longview and Palestine. We utilize project and problem-based learning models with a STEM focus. The classroom teacher will provide instruction to students both face-to-face through project-based learning and online.
The teacher will be supported by a Campus Director, University Academy Central Office Administrators, Professional Development Specialists, and university faculty. Teachers will be expected to participate in graduate-level work; those teachers not currently holding a master’s degree will be expected to be enrolled in a program as part of the compensation package. The position will be a 9-month university appointment, predicated on performance, enrollment, and continued successful operations of the charter school.
Responsibilities
Provide instruction to students in English & Language Arts using project-based learning and STEM focus.
Deliver instruction both face-to-face and online.
Collaborate with campus director, central office administrators, professional development specialists, and university faculty.
Participate in graduate-level work; enroll in a graduate program if not already holding a master’s degree.
Maintain documentation of student progress and meet performance standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
Appropriate grade/subject certification.
Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
