Aide/Early Childhood Assistant Teacher – 1st – 3rd Grade e (S2290 & S2254) – 2 positions
Classification: E
Location: Scott Teays Elementary School
Evaluated by: Building Principal/Assistant Principal
Salary: Service Employee Annual Salary; Salary based on experience and education level per Putnam County Board of Education salary schedule plus competitive benefits: PEIA insurance, retirement, life insurance, free vision and dental insurance.
Job Description: The Early Childhood Assistant Teacher or Kindergarten e aide supports the instructional program by performing tasks assigned by the regular classroom teacher.
Qualifications: Holds a high school diploma or GED; Holds “Aide” classification; Strong oral and written communication skills; Valid CPR and first aid cards; Holds temporary or permanent authorization endorsed for Early Childhood Assistant Teacher.
Required training for Third Grade Success Act: You must agree to complete the Third Grade Success Act requirements (additional training in science of reading, numeracy, and appropriate measures for exercising authority and control over students).
Current ECCAT who wishes to serve in Grade 1–3 classrooms must complete additional in-person or online training in science of reading, numeracy, and authority measures within two calendar years of moving to a Grade 1–3 classroom (2 courses).
Newly hired ECCAT will complete current curriculum plus additional training within three calendar years (4 courses). Licensure will reflect PK–Grade 3 endorsement.
Paraprofessionals willing to serve in grades 1–3 must complete same training within two calendar years.
Length of Employment: 200 days.
Daily Schedule: 6:50 am – 2:50 pm.
Effective Employment Date: August 17, 2026.
