Overview
Responsible for managing the logistics department in a warehouse with moderate volume, scope, and complexity. This role also oversees the delivery fleet’s maintenance program and ensures all logistics associates meet DOT and CMV criteria.

Primary Responsibilities

Ensure all transportation employees understand and operate within the organizational, operational, safety, and service policies and procedures.

Manage and develop a supervisory team responsible for directing all transportation activities and managing logistics associates.

Ensure all logistics associates have all required Department of Transportation (DOT) certifications.

Ensure all accidents are handled and reported, according to company policy.

Manage daily routing schedules and ensure routes are maintained in the routing system.

Schedule all department personnel time‑off requests; ensure route coverage at all times.

Coach, train, direct, and counsel logistics supervisors on overall performance.

Resolve logistics associate discrepancy issues.

Additional Primary Responsibilities

Maintain logistics associate records and files.

Proficient with all technology platforms in transportation.

Maintain company and commercial vehicle registration and plates.

Ensure pre‑trip, post‑trip DVIR is completed by logistics associates daily.

Oversee monthly safety training/meetings per SGWS safety policy.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree – preferred.

5 years of experience or equivalent education and related experience.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong organization, multi‑tasking, and time‑management skills.

Valid state motor‑vehicle operator’s license and ability to obtain and maintain auto‑liability insurance in accordance with state laws.

Strong knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.

Physical Demands

Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer or adding machine.

Physical demands include a considerable amount of time walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping.

Additional hours may be required during peak periods.

Must be able to frequently lift/lower, push, carry, or pull 50 lbs.
