Organization Overview
TechPoint Youth (TPY) has been Indiana's leader in STEM education, inspiring students through STEM programming since 2001. We believe that our youth should be equipped to address Indiana's growing demand for a skilled workforce. Our mission is to ensure Indiana’s underserved and underrepresented K-12 students have access to experiential learning opportunities that increase STEM knowledge and inspire STEM career exploration.

Position Summary
The Program Specialist supports and strengthens TPY’s initiatives, such as the State Robotics Initiative, STEM Mentors Program, and Xplore Program, by coordinating logistics, training, volunteer engagement, data management, and grant activities. The Program Specialist promotes meaningful learning experiences and equitable access to STEM for Indiana’s underserved and underrepresented students.

Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination and Implementation

Support the planning, delivery, and evaluation of all TPY STEM programs, including the State Robotics Initiative, STEM Mentors Program, and Xplore Program.

Assist with training sessions, workshops, and professional development opportunities for educators and program leaders.

Collect and analyze feedback and survey data to guide ongoing program improvements.

Manage program communications, address participant inquiries, and foster engagement within online communities.

Support the ordering, inventory management, and distribution of classroom and grant‑funded materials.

Prepare program documentation and contribute to reports for funders, partners, and board committees.

Volunteer and Partner Engagement

Recruit, onboard, and support volunteers from corporate, school, and community partners to enhance statewide STEM initiatives.

Manage background checks, training, scheduling, and recognition activities to create a positive and impactful volunteer experience.

Keep accurate records of volunteers and partners, assist with impact reporting, and foster strong relationships with schools and industry partners to align resources with program needs.

Grant Administration Support

Support TPY program‑related grants, including review of applications, communications, and collecting grantee documentation.

Keep organized records and contribute to annual grant summaries and funder reports.

Communications and Outreach

Contribute to content creation for web, print, and social media related to events, volunteers, and program impact.

Represent TPY at STEM events, recruitment fairs, conferences, and community engagements across the state.

Build relationships with educators, partners, and stakeholders to increase program participation and visibility.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in education, youth programming, nonprofit work, or related field.

Three or more years of experience coordinating programs, preferably in education, youth development, or nonprofit organizations.

Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Experience collecting, managing, and reporting data for program evaluation or grant compliance.

Effective communication and relationship‑building skills for collaborating with educators, volunteers, and community partners.

Proficient in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.

Committed to promoting equity in STEM education.

Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel statewide as needed.

Working Conditions

Location:

Hybrid (remote and in‑person as needed).

Schedule:

Full‑time (40 hours/week) with some evening/weekend availability.

Salary:

$50,000−$65,000 (TPY is committed to maintaining salary ranges that meet or exceed living‑wage standards for Indiana and stay competitive with similar nonprofits based on size, budget, and location. New employees are generally hired near the middle of the pay range.)

Physical demands and work environment:

Ability to perform tasks that require walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, and moderate lifting (typically up to 30 pounds).

Ability to sit and view a computer screen for up to two hours at a time.
