Job Description
Job Title: Multi-Categorical Special Education Teacher
Job Type: Certified - Position - Special Education Teacher Middle School
Berkeley County Schools seeks qualified applicants for a Multi-Categorical Special Education Teacher. The successful applicant will provide instruction and related services as identified on IEPs to students with varying disabilities in grades 6-8; ensure all procedural safeguards are followed; provide appropriate instruction to assist IEP students in reaching goals; establish and follow behavior management plans; and perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Salary Schedule: Berkeley County Schools Teacher Pay Scale based upon degree level and verified years of experience. 200-day employment term.
Salary increase: If a NBCT accepts the position, they will be paid an additional $2000 stipend in addition to their salary, benefits, and NBCT stipend.
Specialized Skills
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree and hold or be eligible for West Virginia licensure with endorsement(s) in Multi-categorical Special Education with appropriate grade levels.
ABA training is preferred, but the successful applicant will be provided ABA training if needed.
Additional Job Information
If a certified candidate is unavailable for this position, then an applicant who is eligible for a first-class permit, alternative certification, Teacher-in-Residence, or a perm sub can be considered.
