Position Summary
The Receptionist works within a patient-centered, team-based environment at Mathiesen Memorial Health Clinic. This position performs various administrative tasks depending on the office's day-to-day demands.
Essential Duties
Adheres to Mathiesen’s Mission, Vision, Values, Standards of Conduct, and Respectful Workplace policies.
Compliance with HIPAA rules and regulations.
Respectfully and professionally greets and assists all patients.
Ensures phones are answered promptly and efficiently.
Maintains provider scheduling templates, appropriately schedules patient appointments, follows provider direction, and ensures excellent patient care.
Obtains all patient demographic information and processes insurance verification at each visit.
Collects co-payment, coinsurance, or self-payment at the time of visit.
Scans all necessary information into the electronic health record system.
Maintains the cleanliness of the patient lobby.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Skills
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
At least one year of relevant experience, preferred
Previous experience with an Electronic Health Record system, preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong multi-tasking skills
Ability to work collaboratively with the care team
Demonstrate professionalism through conduct and dress
Physical requirements
Bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching above and/or below the shoulder.
Handling/grasping documents or office equipment.
Sitting and/or standing for short or extended periods.
Clear speaking and adequate hearing are sufficient to communicate effectively and respond appropriately in person and on the telephone.
Vision sufficient to read source materials and computer screen data, with or without corrective lenses.
Repetitive motions for computer equipment use.
Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

Working conditions
