Overview

The Environmental Community Partnership (ECP) is a department of UAF that provides environmental support to the Army Directorate of Public Works (DPW) Environmental Division at Fort Wainwright through an intergovernmental service agreement (IGSA). The ECP supports vital functions across the DPW Environmental Division. The programs supported include air quality, water quality, spill prevention and response, cultural and natural resources, and environmental restoration. ECP staff work with federal partners to advise Army decision makers regarding regulatory requirements, including those established in the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

Responsibilities

Support one or more of the programs listed above, including data collection and recording, data entry, GIS data collection and analysis, cartography, inspecting tanks and emission units, collecting water or soil samples, and general office work.

Possible field work during inclement weather and while walking through rough terrain. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum: current University of Alaska student enrolled in 6 credit hours or more with a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, internet and email) and basic clerical skills (accurate typing, filing, photocopying, scanning).

Ability to perform moderately strenuous physical activity such as hiking and carrying gear.

Position Details
This position is located on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks, Alaska. This is a pooled position and applications are reviewed as needed. Submitting an application does not guarantee a review or a job offer.
