Overview
Arader Tree Service is seeking an experienced Plant Health Care Specialist who is an ambitious self‑starter with a passion for preserving and caring for trees and shrubs. This position will focus on monitoring, evaluating, and providing the plant health care needs of trees and shrubs on commercial and residential properties.
Responsibilities
Diagnosis and treatment of trees and shrubs for insects, disease, and other health issues.
Performing tree and shrub care treatments using spray, tree injection, and soil injection tools as prescribed by the Arborist Representative.
Operate and maintain equipment used to apply Plant Health Care treatments.
Communicating with clients regarding work performed during site visits and maintaining positive customer relations.
Mixing and applying pesticides and fertilizers to trees and shrubs according to diagnosis, safety procedures, label instructions, and state laws.
Properly maintaining and operating equipment and vehicles (hand tools, spray agitators, portable spray equipment, and other machinery).
Completing accurate record‑keeping and reporting daily.
Safely driving a company vehicle to multiple properties throughout the day.
Working as a member of a tree care crew, under the Arborist team supervision, during the off‑season.
Qualifications
A valid PA Pesticide License is required.
An interest in being outdoors and working outside year‑round in all weather conditions.
Strong tree and shrub identification for our geography.
Ability to work independently.
ISA Arborist certification or the ability to obtain is preferred.
A clean/valid driver’s license is required.
Ability to identify trees and shrubs, along with diagnosing common insects, diseases, and issues.
Excellent communication skills and customer service.
Math skills to accurately calculate mix ratios for applications.
Ability to understand product labels and directions.
Tree industry experience.
