Essential Functions of the Role:

The Director of Business Development, East Coast is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth through the identification, capture, and expansion of new and existing business opportunities across the Eastern United States. This position places particular emphasis on strengthening Clients East Coast operations while leveraging the broader Clients platform when program requirements benefit from cross platform collaboration. The role focuses on disciplined account penetration, market expansion, and strategic customer engagement within the assigned geographies, ensuring alignment with overall corporate growth objectives.

Working in close coordination with executive leadership, this role serves as a primary sales and account development leader across the East Coast, driving structured pipeline management, targeted account planning, and proactive business development execution. Success in this position requires strong collaboration with external sales representative partners within the geographic territory, as well as close integration with pre sales engineering, operations, and program management. When appropriate, the role will also coordinate with Clients broader service offerings to provide customers with expanded manufacturing solutions and scalable support across the platform.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct market assessments and manage business development activities to support growth throughout Defense, Space, Medical and Semiconductor Capital Equipment markets.

Be responsible for identifying and qualifying new business development opportunities and assisting in the capture management and proposal development processes. These efforts will include opportunity identification, qualification, strategy creation and end-to-end pursuit of ownership for active business development opportunities.

Responsible for maintaining the “pipeline” for new business and capture/recapture efforts of existing contracts, ensuring accuracy of the data for all opportunities assigned under this position.

Ensure forecast accuracy for book-ship activities as part of pipeline responsibilities driving backlog forecast accuracy for financial predictability.

Manage the net opportunity pipeline process with the probability of win calculations, revenue projections, and direct input to the company budget and forecasting process.

New business efforts should focus on RF design and manufacturing opportunities at both the OEM and subsystem levels, with particular emphasis on strategic prime contractor programs and their key supply chain partners across the defense and aerospace sectors, with medical applications supported as required.

Participate in the development of annual strategic business plans.

Support trade show activities and ensure booth and marketing materials are up to date.

Maintain an up-to-date customer contact plan by reaching out to existing and prospective customers through existing and new networking channels, referrals from current customers, and professional events such as meetings, conferences, and workshops (e.g., SmallSat, IMS, PCBAA, etc.).

Perform initial analysis of proposed or actual request of capabilities, and RFPs to determine technical, schedule, and content reasonableness, and profitability.

Determine teaming requirements for prime and subcontract opportunities by identifying and qualifying industry partners, while positioning opportunities to cross sell PCBA services and RF assembly capabilities where program requirements align.

Requirements:

5 to 10 years of progressive Business Development experience within the semiconductor or RF and microwave component manufacturing industry, with strong familiarity and market awareness of RF semiconductor technologies and their application in high reliability programs. Experience within electronics manufacturing services is considered a plus but is not a strict requirement.

Ability to travel at least 50% of the time.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, U.S. military, or equivalent industry experience.

Proven track record in sales and capture management at the project level or higher, with demonstrated success selling solution-based manufacturing and technology services.

Technical expertise and manufacturing understanding in core RF/microwave product lines, including PIN, Schottky, and step recovery diodes, thin film circuits, filters, attenuators, and other specialized RF components.

Experience positioning and selling complex manufacturing solutions that may include semiconductor components and RF assemblies is preferred, with familiarity in PCBA services considered a plus.

Strong understanding of RF manufacturing operations and supply chain considerations, including long lead semiconductor materials.

Proven experience overseeing the entire capture process, coordinating across sales, operations, quality, engineering, scheduling, and cost management.

Skilled in delivering briefings to both peers and senior leadership.

Understanding of key decision-makers, strategic priorities, and major initiatives within the market.

Proven ability to bring together cross-functional teams to drive Business Development initiatives.

Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to develop and deliver compelling sales presentations and marcom material effectively.
