
Driver Non-DOT Freight Handler

YOUR ROLE
Pay Range: $22.31 - $27.88
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Receive cargo from incoming trucks by removing from truck by hand, or using manual equipment such as hand truck or pallet jack, or forklift.
Verify and note the count and condition of cargo received, noting when to refuse or accept with notation.
Record receipts to appropriate forms and/or log books.
Verify that proper documentation is attached.
Sort cargo received by account or intended location, and store in proper location.
Accurately label freight to destination.
Develop and maintain excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times.
Assist in various warehouse maintenance tasks, including sweeping floors and putting equipment away.
May drive truck (safely and in compliance with all applicable State and Federal Regulations) to move trailers, but not authorized to drive on public streets.
Containerize, palletize, package, organize and stage freight in a neat and orderly manner for shipment.
Upon arrival, receive dock assignment, complete and sign appropriate paperwork.
Ensure equipment is in proper repair and working order.
Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 3 years industry driving experience may be substituted for a high school diploma or GED; minimum 1 year verifiable driving experience in the industry and in the type of vehicle that will be driven; minimum 1 year freight handler experience.
Credentials: Valid Class C driver’s license issued by the driver’s home state of residence; acceptable driving record as defined by DOT regulations, TSA regulations and Company policy; must be 21 years of age or older; Forklift Driver Certification; DOT Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Materials Certification.
