DESCRIPTION
The Emergency Trauma Tech works as a team member in the Surgical ICU and Level 1 Trauma Resuscitation Unit under the direct supervision of the RN. The Trauma Technician provides patient‑specific care, observation, and intervention as directed by unit protocols to high‑risk patients. The duties include and are not limited to assisting with activities of daily living, feeding, mobility, and vital signs, stocking supplies and transporting patients, collecting patient care data, labeling, and transporting specimens, performing secretarial duties as needed, assisting other teams in the Surgical ICU and Trauma Unit when required. The Trauma technician also ensures patient care guidelines are followed in order to reduce and prevent harm and performs all other related support functions as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

BART or BLS certification at time of hire, with commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of hire date.

Minimum 3 years of directly related experience.

A minimum 2 years of experience as an EMT or CNA in an emergency department, pre‑hospital, or critical care setting working with vulnerable and high risk populations.

Must be able to function in a high paced environment and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to perform under pressure and handle urgent situations with accuracy and expediency and tact.

Demonstrated computer knowledge and skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

EMT and/or CNA certification.

Prior experience as Trauma Tech, ED Tech, or Mental Health Worker.

Experience in trauma resuscitation.

Experience in the care of traumatically injured patients with psychiatric illness, primary brain injury, and/or substance abuse comorbidities.

Bilingual (Spanish/English).

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Must be able to work various hours and locations (i.e. floating to other departments) based on business needs.

Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $67,756 - $67,756 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $32.45 - $32.45
