Job Description
Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
Have direct contact with patients and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
Demonstrate Leadership Behaviours while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties with confidence, following established practices and procedures.
Maintain required records and documentation.
Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Requirements
Minimum of 6 months’ experience. One (+) year phlebotomy experience preferred.
Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills
Keyboard/data entry.
Customer services.
Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric.
