Position Overview
Industry Technical Specialist
As part of the BarthHaas family of companies, BetaTec offers the opportunity to join an established team in the ethanol industry focused on innovation, collaboration, and meaningful results.
Responsibilities
Provide on-site technical service to industrial ethanol customers through frequent visits, plant trials, process audits, and performance reviews.
Support field trial setup and optimization, troubleshoot fermentation and process issues, and conduct follow-up calls.
Prepare technical trial summary reports, protocols, and fermentation data reviews.
Use JMP or equivalent statistical software to analyze plant and trial data, interpret results, and provide technically sound recommendations.
Perform customer training, deliver technical presentations, and support long‑term product success.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Fermentation Science, Biofuels Processes, Biology, or a related technical field, or comparable work experience.
Progressive experience in technical services, laboratory fermentation, biofuels processes, or customer support in ethanol or industrial biotechnology settings.
Strong data analysis, statistical interpretation, and experimental review skills.
Proficiency in JMP or equivalent statistical analysis software, Microsoft Office, and CRM systems such as Salesforce.
Ability to travel regionally to customer locations.
Preferred: expertise in fermentation principles, yeast physiology, biological troubleshooting, contamination control, and fermentation efficiency.
