Production Supervisor
Our client is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee daily plant operations and lead a team of operators within a fast-paced, continuous process manufacturing environment in the biofuels/ethanol space. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable production across multiple processing streams while driving process optimization and operational performance. The Production Supervisor will lead and develop team members, monitor key performance metrics, and champion continuous improvement initiatives to meet production goals and maintain high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of fermentation, distillation, evaporation, and drying systems
Monitor key process parameters (temperature, pressure, pH, flow rates) to maximize production efficiency and yield
Ensure continuous operation and respond quickly to process disruptions
Supervise and support plant operators, assigning tasks and ensuring proper shift coverage
Drive a strong safety culture and enforce OSHA and plant-specific safety protocols
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including emissions and wastewater standards
Partner with lab teams to maintain product quality and address deviations
Track and report on KPIs such as yield, throughput, and downtime
Troubleshoot production issues and collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams
Support training, development, and performance of team members
Skills & Experience:
Education:
HSD or GED required; Associates or Bachelors degree in Process Technology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field preferred
Experience:
3-5+ years in ethanol production, biofuels, or similar processing industry, required
Knowledge:
Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing setting, strong understanding of fermentation, distillation, and related processes, AND solid understanding of safety & environmental guidelines, required
Software:
Microsoft Office Suite, required
